Fall Soccer 2020 Update: 8/20/20 (Please Read! I know its a lot!)
First Practice: Next Week! I will post times and days for each group soon!
We are attempting to have a very simplified season to get the kids playing soccer, learning some skills and having fun. To do that, we are required to follow CDC, SAY and PA Dept of Health guidelines for recreational sports. As part of those requirements we are required to have a Covid Coordinator. Trish Krise graciously volunteered to be our coordinator. Below is a summary of expectations of parents, spectators and players as well as procedures that must be in place. We do not want to be policing the guidelines, so we ask that you familiarize yourself, family members and your child with the expectations. If you don’t want to assist in following and administering guidelines we will be happy to refund any registration fee at this time. This season is an incredible amount of work with the single reason of giving our kids an opportunity to play soccer. If we have problems with people not following the rules we will discontinue the season.
If your child or anyone they have been in contact with recently is showing any signs of sickness, please stay home!
Temperature scans will be taken with a non-touch thermometer. Coaches are required to monitor their players and can reference symptom checklist. Masks should be worn during evaluation.
Please use hand sanitizer prior to arrival at facility.
Hand sanitizer will be available for players, spectators and parents. Players will be encouraged to use it prior to game start, at the end of the game and during breaks
Equipment: Game balls will be swapped out at times with sanitized balls during dead ball situations. Game and practice formats are centered around 3v3 play which does not have throw-ins, goalies or headers. No one should be touching the game ball.
Each player must bring with them the following to each practice: their own water in a distinguishable container (as to not have it confused with someone else's), an age appropriate ball - 6 and 7 size 3, all others size 4. We have loaners if needed, their pinnie that they will be provided with.
Coaches should maintain distance at practice and encourage players to do the same. Masks must be worn when distancing cannot be obtained.
No hand shakes or group contact celebrations permitted.
All visitors not playing are required to social distance except within your own household. Bleachers should not be used. Please bring your own chair or blanket to sit on.
No loitering prior to or after games or practice
No sharing drinks, snacks, pinnies, etc.
Absolutely no kids in the shed.
Only one person is permitted in the shed at a time.
PLAYER REGISTRATION: All players must be registered with Bradford Township Soccer Association and must have turned in Covid 19 Hold Harmless Waiver available on SAY Soccer Website. Registration deadline is Sunday, August 23! No exceptions. We will only be accepting registration for the following ages: 6-11. Age determined at registration or time of play. Groups are as follows: 6-7, 8-9, and 10-11
PRACTICES AND SCRIMMAGES: There are (2) 3v3 fields set up. Age groups will have assigned field times and days. Example: Whatever day at 5 - 6 PM age group 8-9 will play games and scrimmages. In this example, only that age group will be at the field at that time.
EQUIPMENT: All players must wear shin guards. No Softball or baseball cleats allowed.
FIELD DIMENSIONS: Approximately: Width:30 yards, Length: 40 yards
GOAL BOX: The goal box, ten feet wide by eight feet deep, is directly in front of the goal. No player may touch the ball within the goal box, however any player may move through the goal box. Any part of the ball or player’s body on the line is considered in the goal box; the player is an extension of the box. An INFRACTION occurs if a defender touches the ball in the goal box, a penalty kick is awarded to the offensive team. If an offensive player touches the ball within the goal box, a goal kick is awarded to the defensive team. If the ball comes to a complete stop in the goal box, regardless of which team touched it last, a goal kick is awarded to the defensive team.
GOAL SCORING: A goal may be scored from a touch on the offensive half on the playing field.
NO OFFSIDES IN 3V3 SOCCER AND NO SLIDE TACKLING OR HEADING IN 3V3 SOCCER
FIVE YARD RULE: In all dead ball situations, defending players must stand five yards away from the ball. If the defensive player’s goal area is closer than five yards, the ball is placed five yards from the goal area in line with the place of the penalty.
KICK-INS: The ball shall be kicked in to play from the sideline instead of thrown in.
INDIRECT KICKS: All dead ball kicks (kick-ins, free kicks, kick-offs) are indirect except corner and penalty kicks.
GOAL KICKS: May be taken from any point on the end line, and not in the goal box.
KICK OFF: May be taken in any direction.
PENALTY KICKS: Shall be awarded if both coaches agree a scoring opportunity was nullified by the infraction. It is a direct kick taken from the top of the center circle (15ft. line) on the offensive side of the midfield line with all other players behind the midfield line. If a goal is not scored, the defense obtains possession with a goal kick. Penalty kicks are not live balls.
SPORTSMANSHIP: This is for fun and a chance to learn some great skills!!! Please no overly aggressive play or coaching!
