- SAY Soccer has developed RETURN-TO-PLAY RECOMMENDATIONS AND BEST PRACTICES. Please take a few minutes of your time to familiarize your family with the recommendations. The recommendations can be found by clicking on the bold highlighted text above. We will be working to develop strategies to adhere to their recommendations to the best of our ability. A start is as follows:
- If a player, family member or anyone you have been in contact with recently, is displaying any signs of illness please stay home.
- Alternate methods for group and person to person celebrations as well as post game handshakes will be developed, encouraged and practiced. It would be great if the kids could come up with something fun.
- We are considering purchasing pinnies for each player to bring with them to each practice
- We encourage each player to have an age appropriate ball (U10- Size 4, U8 and U6 - Size 3) If you need financial help or recommendations on a purchase please let us know.
- Since we have dedicated fields for each group and families with kids in each age group we will continue scheduling practice within the same time frame but discourage congregation at the beginning and end of practices as well during breaks.
- Encourage the kids to not congregate in the shed.
- My wife will be cleaning the porta pot after each use. Make sure you let her know when you are done. Just kidding (am I still alowed to joke?) Seriously, We will provide hand sanitizer in the port a pot and disposable wipes to clean touched surfaces. We will sanitize the door handles often.
- Please don't assume that every individual shares your viewpoints. We don't know everyone's situation as to whether they are high risk or care for a family member that is high risk. If you are not 100% sure of an individuals viewpoint please assume that they want their 6' distance respected. This includes players, coaches, referees, and spectators.
- I think we can all agree that none of these measures are fun but they are doable. Regardless of our opinions this is about one thing: KIDS HAVING THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY SOCCER AGAIN! I am extremely grateful and excited for that opportunity and I am sure each of you are as well. Please keep that in mind and help do your part. Thank you.
