Hoagie orders are due by Wednesday April 28, 2021. Please bring your total payment to practice with you that night. If you can provide a single check made out to Bradford Soccer Association it would be helpful.

Welcome to the Spring 2021 season Sting families! I have been getting a lot of inquiries about when we will be starting so I will be covering that and a lot more. I will be adding information to the website and Facebook page throughout the season, so please check those often as well.
Covid guidelines from SAY Soccer, DOH and CDC are rapidly changing. We will continually review these guidelines and adjust our response to the season accordingly. We are working with our participating associations to be consistent with our procedures. At this time we only ask that you please follow any PA DOH or CDC recommendations and if you or your family members are sick, please stay home.
We anticipate only having (1) fundraiser this season. We will be doing a Marianna's fundraiser (dates to come). We are proud to offer an opportunity for families to participate in recreational soccer at an extremely low cost. In order for us to continue to do so we need help with fundraising to pay for supplies, referees, parties and awards/gifts for the kids. If you do not wish to fundraise, you can also contribute with donations to the association.
I will be closing registration Tuesday, April 6, 2021. If you know anyone that still wishes to register, please pass this information on to them.
After closing registration, I will provide the coaches with their rosters and parent contact information. We typically communicate changes to practice / games via group texts. Please contact your coaches if you have any questions. We will attempt to update the website and Facebook page when we have advanced notice of cancelations but often it is at the last minute because of lightning.
The address for our facility is 636 Pinetop Road, Bigler PA 16825. Some navigation systems attempt to take people through a gated road. I have included written directions to our field for anyone not familiar with our location and have included them below.
We work with Chamberlain Designs for jerseys and Sting apparel. You will place orders and payments directly to Chamberlain Designs. I will be adding a flyer to the website and Facebook with prices and options soon. For any jersey purchases, we do need to assign you a number for the back of the jersey. Please contact Lara 814.762.7620 for your number. U6 players do not need to have jerseys for games but should have some article of Sting apparel for group and / or individual pictures. Many purchase jerseys at that age level and are able to wear them for several seasons. That is your choice.
Please bring shin guards, soccer cleats and a drink to practices and games. We have soccer balls for kids to use. If you wish to bring your own please make sure it is age group / size appropriate. U6 and U8: Size 3 and U10: Size 4

Important Info and Dates:
April 12, 2021: Practices Begin for all age groups. First 15 minutes meet and greet with coaches and association organizers.
Dates: TBD - U6 games will be coordinated with Curwensville and West Branch with dates yet to be determined.
Saturday, April 24 - First game for U8 and U10 teams. Coaches will have schedules and will let you know time and locations for your games. Additional game dates are as follows: 5/1, 5/8, 5/15, 5/22 and 6/5. There will be no games over Memorial Day weekend.

Monday, May 17 - Pictures with Ryan Bender Photography at 5:30 at our field. Please wear a jersey for U10-U8 and Sting apparel or jersey for U6. I will provide the coaches with order forms, please bring completed forms and payment the night of pictures promptly.
Date: TBD - Marianna's delivery date. Volunteers needed to help sort at the Bigler YMCA.
Saturday, June 5 - Bradford Sting Soccer Party will be at Parker Dam State Park from 3 PM until ? at pavilion 4. The association will be providing hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, condiments, and tableware. We ask that parents bring a dessert or side dish to share and your own drinks.
Saturday, June 12 - "Skip" Koerber Memorial Tournament in Clearfield
We have the option to field teams from U8 and U10. We will make the decision whether to field teams closer to the event.

Take 322 East to Bigler light. Turn right at the Bigler light (Minit Mart on the left and old Bradford Elementary on the right). Go through the town of Bigler, you will cross over two sets of railroad tracks. After the second set of tracks do not turn left. Instead continue straight up a gradual hill. In approximately .2 mile there will be a sign on the right for Bradford Sting Soccer with a drive down over the hill to the fields.
Coming from West Branch
Take Allport Cutoff road toward Bigler light. Go straight through at the Bigler light through the town of Bigler. You will cross over two sets of railroad tracks. After the second set of tracks do not turn left. Instead continue straight up a gradual hill. In approximately .2 mile there will be a sign on the right for Bradford Sting Soccer with a drive down over the hill to the fields.
Coming from Philipsburg
Take 322 West to Bigler light. Turn left at the Bigler light (Minit Mart on the right and Cenclear on the left). Go through the town of Bigler, you will cross over two sets of railroad tracks. After the second set of tracks, do not turn left; instead continue straight up a gradual hill. In approximately .2 mile, there will be a sign on the right for Bradford Sting Soccer with a drive down over the hill to the fields.
Recreation League Rules: Clearfield/Curwensville/Bigler/West Branch
U-8
Play will be 6v6, (5 field players and a goalie). Goalie must have a pinnie or different color shirt.
Length of play is four 8 minute quarters. There will be a 2 min break between quarters and a 5 minute half time.
Size 3 ball
Each player must play 50% of the game minimum.
Slide tackles are NOT permitted in any level of rec soccer.
Throw in's – Bad throws with instruction from ref with unlimited re-do's.
Substitutions – Substitutions will be at the end of the quarter to start the new quarter.
U-10
Play will be 7v7, (6 field players and a goalie). Goalie must have a pinnie or different color shirt.
Length of play is four 10 minute quarters. There will be a 2 min break between quarters and a 5 minute half time.
Size 4 ball, field size approx. 40 yards by 60 yards.
Each player must play 50% of the game minimum.
Refs will only be able to issue Yellow cards, there will be no Red cards used. Cards should only be given for a violent, intent to injure offense.
PK's will apply for violations in the box.
Slide tackles are NOT permitted in any level of rec soccer.
Throw in's – Bad throws will have one instructional re-do.
The offside rule is in affect: Referees will be instructed to call only clear infractions.
Substitutions – Substitutions will be at the end of the quarter to start the new quarter.
